1. TikTok Adds New Search Ads Tools. Can They Help Advertisers Find More Customers?
Announced: October 30, 2026 | TikTok Advertising
TikTok has announced several Q4 advertising improvements, including new tools for Search Ads Campaigns, Smart+ creative management and TikTok Shop advertising.
For Search Ads, two additions stand out.
Search Impression Share and Top 1 Impression Share help advertisers understand how often their keywords win eligible search auctions and appear in the top position.
The new Keyword Suggestion Tool packs can recommend groups of brand and category keywords, with signals including search volume, CPC and competition.
TikTok has also introduced GMV Max Pro, designed to help eligible merchants manage more than advertising costs, including coupons, affiliate costs and platform commissions.
Its Smart+ Creative Selection improvements give advertisers more control over recommended creatives, including the option to review assets before they go live.
Availability depends on the product, market and account. TikTok has not established that all these features are available to every UAE advertiser.

2. Meta Ads Revenue Is Growing Faster Than Google Search. Should Businesses Move Their Budgets?
Analysis published: November 1, 2026 | Google Ads & Meta Ads
Meta reported approximately $63.1 billion in advertising revenue for the third quarter of 2026, an increase of 26% from a year earlier.
Alphabet reported approximately $63.35 billion from Google Search and other revenue, an increase of 12%.
That's a 14-percentage-point difference in growth rates.
But there's an important limitation: these aren't identical accounting categories, and the figures don't compare the full advertising businesses of Meta and Google.
Both companies are still growing.
Google has also reported increasing Search activity, including commercial searches, despite the wider shift toward AI-powered results.
So Meta growing faster doesn't prove that Google Search advertising is becoming ineffective.

3. Why Are Banks and Retailers Blocking Some AI Shopping Agents?
Industry analysis: November 1, 2026 | AI Automation & Business Security
AI assistants are starting to do more than recommend products or answer questions.
Some are designed to compare prices, access customer accounts, manage subscriptions and carry out transactions on behalf of users.
But companies including JPMorgan Chase and Amazon have restricted certain external AI agents from interacting with their systems.
The concerns include account security, access to financial information, fraud prevention and whether an AI assistant has permission to complete a particular action.
This is not a worldwide ban on AI agents.
Different businesses are taking different approaches, and the long-term rules are still developing.

4. HSBC Plans a Hong Kong AI Institute. What Can Businesses Learn?
Announced: November 2, 2026 | Enterprise AI
HSBC plans to establish an AI and emerging technology institute in Hong Kong during the first quarter of 2027.
The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology will be its first academic partner.
The institute will focus on areas including artificial intelligence, blockchain and post-quantum cryptography.
HSBC is also expanding employee AI training as part of its wider technology strategy.
The planned Hong Kong institute follows its earlier AI investment in Singapore, where the bank announced plans to hire more than 100 AI specialists.
The Hong Kong institute is not operational yet, and the announcement doesn't introduce an immediate change to HSBC banking services in the UAE.

5. Binance Begins Restoring Withdrawals After a $6.3 Billion Security Incident
Recovery update: November 1–2, 2026 | Cybersecurity
Binance has started restoring withdrawals following a security incident involving approximately $6.3 billion in affected crypto assets.
Its November 1 update confirmed that withdrawals would return in stages, beginning with selected networks and tokens.
The exchange also reported that approximately 95% of affected assets had been replenished using company resources.
However, this does not mean every withdrawal service is fully restored or that the investigation has ended.
Customers still need to check whether their particular asset and network are available.
Binance has said that customers will not bear the financial losses caused by the incident.

My Overall Take: Better Tools Don't Automatically Mean Better Business Results
Today's news highlights three things.
Advertising platforms are giving marketers more automation and reporting. Businesses are becoming more interested in AI agents, but security and control remain serious concerns. And large companies are investing in training and technology to prepare for the next stage of AI adoption.
For business owners, the right response isn't to adopt every new feature or change budgets whenever a platform announces growth.
Focus on what you can measure: qualified customers, real sales, profit, time saved and operational risk.
Those are the outcomes that tell you whether a new technology is actually helping your business.
