Google AI Mode Ads Are Expanding. Do You Need to Change Your Campaigns?
Announced: October 28, 2026 | Google Ads
Google is expanding ads in AI Mode, the conversational search experience where people can ask more detailed questions and continue with follow-up searches.
The expansion covers ten countries: Australia, Canada, India, Kenya, Malaysia, New Zealand, Nigeria, Pakistan, the Philippines and Singapore.
Google also announced multiturn advertising in the United States, allowing sponsored results to appear as people continue asking follow-up questions.
The company plans further expansion during Q4 2026, including Brazil, Mexico and the United Kingdom, although planned access should not be confused with a completed launch.
Do you need to build new campaigns?
Not necessarily. Google says eligible existing Search, Shopping and Performance Max campaigns can participate in supported AI search placements without a separate campaign or budget.
The UAE is not part of the announced ten-country expansion.

Google Connected Apps Could Change How Customers Find and Use Business Services
Announced: October 28, 2026 | Google Search & Gemini
Google has introduced a Connected Apps Platform that lets developers connect supported applications with Google Search and Gemini.
Think about someone asking an AI assistant to help with a task. Instead of just reading an answer and opening another website, they may be able to interact with a connected service inside that experience.
Google says developers can connect through supported MCP integrations, register and test their apps, and choose whether to make them available in Search, Gemini, or both.
Access is opening in phases, so the platform isn't available to every developer or business yet.
Google also says it has launched more than 50 Connected Apps across Search and Gemini, including integrations involving partners such as Adobe and Peloton. Additional connections are planned.

Meta Ads Could Report More Conversions From November 12, Even Without More Sales
Reported: October 28, 2026 | Meta Ads & Tracking
A reported Meta Pixel update is expected to begin rolling out on November 12, 2026.
The setting is called "Measure conversions on customer devices." According to industry reporting and screenshots of advertiser notices, it is designed to identify some conversions that Meta's existing reporting may have missed.
The setting is expected to be enabled by default for eligible datasets that already send events to Meta, with an option to switch it off in Events Manager.
Reporting also identifies some important limitations: the feature is not active for users in the European Union or United Kingdom, and eligibility may depend on how the Pixel is installed and whether customers log in using an email address or phone number.
These implementation details should be checked against the actual notice in your Meta account.
Why does this matter?
Imagine your Ads Manager dashboard starts showing more purchases after November 12. That doesn't automatically mean your business suddenly generated more orders.
It could mean Meta is recognizing conversions that happened previously but weren't fully attributed.
Reporting status: Based on industry coverage and reported advertiser notices. The complete public Meta documentation and all rollout details were not independently established for this briefing.

Google Launches Gemini 4 Carbon, but Can Businesses Actually Use It Yet?
Announced: October 28, 2026 | AI & Cybersecurity
Google announced Gemini 4 Carbon, a new AI model designed for advanced coding, cybersecurity and complex tasks that require longer reasoning.
Google reports benchmark scores of 88.2% on SEC-bench Pro for vulnerability discovery, 54.8% on ExploitGym and 71.0% on CWE-bench for patching.
Those are Google's reported benchmark results, not guarantees that the model can safely find or fix every security issue.
Availability is also limited.
Google is initially giving access to selected cybersecurity defenders, with additional trusted partners expected to receive access through its Fairwind Program. It has not announced a general public release date.

Is Google Search Dying Because of AI? Alphabet's Latest Revenue Tells a More Complicated Story
Results announced: October 28, 2026 | Google Search & Business
Alphabet, Google's parent company, reported $127.6 billion in revenue for Q3 2026, an increase of 25% compared with the same quarter last year.
Google Search and other revenue reached approximately $63.35 billion, up 12% year over year.
Google Cloud revenue grew 103% to approximately $30.7 billion, reflecting strong demand for cloud and AI infrastructure.
The company also reported that the Gemini app had reached one billion users.
But the picture wasn't entirely positive. Alphabet's net income fell to approximately $26.2 billion, and Google Search revenue growth was slower than in the previous quarter.
So, while Search is still generating substantial revenue, it's also facing changes in how people search and how Google invests in AI.

ChatGPT and ServiceNow Are Connecting AI to Real Business Workflows
Announced: October 28, 2026 | AI Automation
OpenAI and ServiceNow have expanded their partnership to bring AI into more business workflows.
The announcement includes a new ServiceNow integration for ChatGPT, designed to help authorized users work with business information and carry out permitted actions without leaving the conversation.
For example, an IT employee could investigate an incident, review related information and update a ServiceNow record through ChatGPT.
Organizations connect their own ServiceNow instance and decide which capabilities to enable. Existing business rules and permissions determine which actions a user can take.
The partnership also covers planned developments involving software development, cybersecurity and other enterprise tools.
Some capabilities are available or being previewed, while others have future release schedules. This is not a feature that automatically gives every ChatGPT user access to ServiceNow data.

My Overall Take: What Matters Most for Businesses Right Now?
Looking at these six developments together, I see three things worth paying attention to.
First, the way people discover businesses is changing. Google's AI Mode ads and Connected Apps show that search is becoming more conversational and interactive.
Second, measurement needs more attention, not less. Meta's reported update is a reminder that a better-looking dashboard doesn't always mean stronger business performance.
Third, AI is moving closer to day-to-day business operations. That creates opportunities to save time, but also makes security, permissions and oversight more important.
If you're running a business, you don't need to react to every announcement.
Focus on where your customers are, whether your marketing produces real results, and whether new tools solve a problem worth solving.
That's how technology news becomes useful business intelligence instead of another headline to scroll past.
